July 11th Menu: A Very Kentish Picnic 🇬🇧

We’re turbo-charging the classic picnic with bold flavours, brilliant local produce and a few cheeky twists – all packed up and ready for park blankets, garden tables or easy summer suppers. It’s a high-summer celebration of Kent’s fields, hedgerows and orchards, made for feasting.

🥧 Courgette & Cheesemakers of Canterbury Ashmore Vol Au Vent
Flaky, all-butter pastry loaded with courgette ribbons and rich, melty Kentish Ashmore cheese. Golden, savoury and satisfying – like a ploughman’s in pie form.

🥔 Herby New Potato Salad
Kent new potatoes tossed with chopped garden herbs and a classic dressing. Simple, fresh, and dangerously moreish.

🥬 Fermented Picnic Slaw
Crunchy, colourful ribbons of summer veg – cabbage, carrot, and whatever the fields are throwing at us this week – naturally fermented for zing, crunch, and gut-friendly brilliance.

🍒 Kent Cherry & Frangipane Tart
All-butter shortcrust cradling almondy frangipane and bursting local cherries. Served with Hinxden Dairy Crème Fraiche. Sweet, sharp, and peak English summer in a slice.
